More Scenes of Spring in Louisiana

I continue to putter about the garden and our plants continue to bloom, so I sharing a few more pics that show off the beauty of our Louisiana spring in the Historic Highland neighborhood.

When the dogwood blooms, our entire front yard looks beautiful.

Carolina jassamine climb the screen that shades the front porch swing.

Pink Gerber Daisy blooms outside my exercise room on cottage patio.

This Professor Sargeant camellia blooms in front yard.

Yellow Bearded Iris, along with the purple iris, blooms along the carport in back yard

Vase of camellias sits on cottage porch in salvaged chair.

    1. June, I love our dogwood and we watered it a lot during the drought a couple years ago to save it; we lost my favorite sasanqua tree outside my library window in the drought and I still mourn it, so I totally know what you mean.

  2. Beautiful photos!! I need to come over an id your plants for you. The "yellow honeysuckle" is our native carolina jessamine. I notice you had mislabeled some of you other photos: the lily in the valley was actually, leucojum, or snowflake. It's no big deal. Only plant nerds like me ever notice. :-)

    1. Hey Janet, No I was hoping someone would tell me what we've got in our yard. I did change the snowflake already, an error one of my best friends caught. I'll fix the others when I get a chance. Thanks.

  3. The Pink "shasta" is a Gerbera daisy. The double camellia is "Professor Sargent", and you have a yellow bearded iris. The vase of camellias is probably Governor Mouton. :-) I will mind my own business if you want. :-)

    1. Nan, my family in Virginia is still experiencing some snow, so they, too, are a bit envious. You all will soon get even when our tropical summer hits!! You get to gloat then, while we wilt.

  5. Love your photos! Our Carolina jasmine was breath-taking this year; it is always pretty, but this year was awesome.
Your patio must be a wonderful spring get-away!

    1. Everything is so covered in yellow pollen that in truth we don't sit outside much until it's over. Ricky did clean off the front porch yesterday, and I had washed off cottage last week but it's yellow again. Guess I'll try to clean it a bit this afternoon for the weekend. Your property at your camp is spectacular! The Carolina Jasmine isn't looking that good at our house, because Ricky took it all down to put up a metal barrier at end of our porch, then rehung the bamboo screen, then tied the jasmine back up, so it was traumatized this year. We were surprised it survived and kept of blooming.
